Howard Street

One Howard Street is a collaborative effort between Rogers Park Business Alliance and the City of Evanston to develop a unified corridor plan for Howard Street between Sheridan Road and Western Avenue/Asbury Avenue. This community-driven planning process created an action plan that charted a path toward a safe, welcoming, and prosperous Howard Street corridor. For the Economic Recovery Plan campaign, D + F Photography played a vital role in visually capturing the spirit of unity and resilience that defines this cross-border initiative between Chicago and Evanston. Our photography focused on storytelling—highlighting the diverse voices and vibrant community life along Howard Street.

From intimate portraits of local entrepreneurs to candid moments of youth, our work brought to life the human connection behind the plan's mission. Our approach prioritized showcasing both the challenges and triumphs within the community, aligning with the plan's focus on immediate, tangible improvements. Through thoughtful composition and an emphasis on natural light and environment, we captured Howard Street's evolving landscape, ensuring that each image resonated with the authenticity and optimism driving this economic recovery effort.
