Making Sips Count.

Concept Development

The creative direction was inspired by the beers’ flavor profiles—bold, surprising, and complex—and unified by the iridescent beetle motif, symbolizing hidden surprises and discovery. The campaign sought to elevate the sensory experience of beer into a fully immersive journey. Key Creative Pillars: Surprise: The unexpected use of beetle motifs and dynamic designs. Adventure: Each beer tells a story of exploration and bold choices. Engagement: Interactive elements both visually and experientially.

Packaging Design

The foundation of the campaign was the can designs, which needed to balance bold aesthetics with storytelling. Each can was meticulously designed to reflect the beer’s unique flavor profile: No Map, No Compass: Swirling green and blue patterns evoke a sense of exploration and uncharted territories. A metallic, iridescent beetle dominates the design, symbolizing the adventure of uncovering bold tropical flavors. Out in the Wild: Warm orange and purple tones with intricate, nature-inspired patterns reflect the rugged outdoors and untamed flavors. The beetle adds a playful, organic element that ties to its earthy, citrusy profile. Everything’s Borrowed: Deep reds and soft blue floral patterns communicate the fleeting beauty of life, paired with the beetle to represent iridescent moments and the beer’s delicate, hazy complexity.

Visual Asset Creation

The designs were brought to life through photorealistic 3D renders that highlighted the intricate details of the cans. These renders formed the backbone of the digital and print assets. 3D Renders: Dynamic lighting was used to emphasize the metallic shimmer of the beetle motif. Cans were showcased in adventurous and reflective settings to enhance the thematic connection (e.g., abstract maps, glowing forest scenes).

Campaign Strategy & Execution

The campaign spanned multiple touchpoints to ensure maximum visibility and engagement. Pop-Up Tasting Events: Three disruptive, out-of-the-box events were designed to immerse consumers in the story behind each beer: "Into the Wild: Sensory Tasting Adventure" offered an immersive, jungle-inspired environment with tasting trails, hop-scented fog, and VR elements. "No Map, No Compass: Blindfolded Beer Tasting" focused on the element of surprise with a guided sensory experience and a dramatic reveal of the can designs. "Everything’s Borrowed: Glow-in-the-Dark Beer Garden" showcased glowing beetle motifs under UV lighting in a dreamy nighttime setting. Retail & Digital Campaigns: In-Store Displays: Point-of-sale displays featured bold graphics from the cans and lighting effects that mimicked the beetle’s iridescence. Beetle-shaped coasters and posters extended the branding. Social Media Campaign: Teaser videos featuring "Flavor Uncovered" animations highlighted the beer’s unexpected flavors and visuals. A user engagement challenge encouraged consumers to post photos with the cans under different lighting (#DiscoverYeasty). Swag: Designed custom merch, including holographic stickers, glowing pint glasses, and enamel pins shaped like the beetle, tying the design theme into tangible products.

Narrative Branding

Crafted evocative taglines, tasting notes, and flavor descriptions that emphasized the beers’ adventurous, reflective, and untamed qualities. This narrative was integrated across all assets to create a seamless storytelling experience.

Results & Impact

The campaign successfully created buzz around the launch, establishing Yeasty Beast Brewing Co. as a bold and innovative brand in the craft beer market. The vibrant designs, paired with immersive events and engaging content, resonated with the target audience and drove curiosity, foot traffic, and sales.

Uncover the Unexpected

D + F Studio led the charge on a 360° creative campaign designed to captivate, disrupt, and engage for the launch of Yeasty Beast trio IPA. The project blended bold visual storytelling with immersive experiential marketing to ensure these beers claimed their space in a crowded craft beer market.
